Logo and Graphic Design
Amaris Winterguard
The project included the design of the Winter Guard visual brand, including the logo, typographic namemark, and the design of the Guard brand image. As this was a new Guard venture, high resolution photography wasn’t available, so the design relied on typography, visual elements, and the use of color. Flexible and responsive, the layouts were developed into multiple dimensions to work as posters, flyers, brochures, and graphics for the web, social media, and advertising.
To achieve an important goal in today’s world of extensive digital platforms, the layout and design is responsive. This ensures the design works in all dimensions, sizes, and on all platforms and in mediums. As part of the process that achieves goals, responsive design is achieved by creating flexible elements, assigning value to those elements, defining the importance of elements in the layout, creating anchor elements in the design, and most importantly visual consistency, to ensure the resulting design will work as intended in all mediums.
To achieve a long-term usage of the developed creative, a bootstrap methodology was used. This methodology enables the layout to be developed for any dimension, size, medium, and platform as needed., In print, for the web, or on social media, in full color in one color, or any color palette, long after the project is complete. To achieve this, a visual hierarchy was created for the layout and the elements within the layout, assigning importance to each. Because the design and layout was already responsive, the elements in the layout already had multiple arrangements, which enabled this methodology.
This is an innovative approach to best serving the client by increasing the value of provided services. When implemented, this innovative approach extends the lifespan of work done. It enables the creative to be applied to an innumerable amount of platforms with extensive size dimensions and constraints. Working with a set business image, design language, and messaging, this approach enables the creative to stay fresh for a long while.
