The Creative Process
A Typographical Approach

For the fourth straight year the Upper Makefield Fire Company hired Adam Garlinger to design and develop their annual fundraising. A campaign to raise funds for the Fire Company’s operational needs, continued training, and education. As in previous years, the project development included the campaign concept, messaging, writing, and design, and layout of the mailer package. A trifold mailer where the presentation and opening of the mailer plays an important role in its presentation to the recipient.

With the goal of generating maximized funds, the messaging and impact are essential. The messaging conveys the importance of the fire company to the community, without overstated and hyped language, or typical cliches.

The creative development is based on typographical design to reflect the messaging, and is the starting point of design and creative development. To view the creative process, click here.

Notes Upper Makefield Fire Co.
Typography played an important role, in both conveying the tone of the message and working as an important visual element. The typography strengthens the impact of the message, and helps deliver it as intended. Important to this happening is not only the typeface, but how the type is arranged. Line by line, with certain words larger to ensure it's read by the viewer with the intended feel.
